Valerie Love is SVP and chief of human resources for the North America Operating Unit.

Before joining The Coca-Cola Company in 2019, Love was global vice president, Human Resources, Consumer Supply Chain and Global Quality for Johnson & Johnson; she also led Human Resources for Johnson & Johnson’s Vision Care business (JJVC). Love served as vice president, Human Resources at Tyco International, and had a 20- year tenure at General Motors leading Human Resources across several businesses and plants, including international assignments in Argentina and Germany.

Love earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tennessee State University and MBA at Belmont University.

Passionate about serving, Love sits on the boards of Kimball International, Inc., Tennessee State University Foundation, National Strategic Partnership Taskforce for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as well as the board of trustees of Clark Atlanta University, and executive sponsor of The Coca-Cola Company’s This-Ability inclusion network.

Women of Influence: Challenges in Leadership from African American Women’s Perspective

Overview: “One of the greatest challenges of leadership is shouldering the responsibility it confers. Part of that responsibility is the responsibility to deal with those aspects of yourself that can keep you from being an effective leader." However, one must not only focus on within because there are aspects throughout society that can also impact leaders. During this workshop, influential African American women will discuss the issues around the new laws surrounding voter suppression, reproductive health, abortion, and gender equality that have all challenged female leaders today.
