Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) & Daily Yoga Facilitator
Patrick Lyons, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) began his yoga journey in 2008 after spending 12 years on various medications in a quest to lower his blood pressure and relieve stress. Just two years later, in 2010, his doctor instructed him to discontinue his medication, as positive, healthy changes in his diet and exercise programs had led to a natural decrease in blood pressure.
In 2019, Patrick completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program with Arrichion Hot Yoga in Raleigh, NC. He created a class, specifically for African American males ages 35 and older – a group that is disproportionately affected by high blood pressure and diabetes. Patrick entered an advanced 300-hour yoga teacher training program in 2020 in pursuit of obtaining a 500-hour yoga teacher certification from The Yoga Alliance. His goal is to increase awareness of the benefits of yoga for African Americans and create classes to help those with diabetes, high blood pressure and other ailments.
Patrick graduated from Florida A&M University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and in 2001, he earned a Master of Science Management in Finance from North Carolina State University. He also holds a Certification in CPR from the Red Cross. Patrick is a member of the 100 Black Men of Triangle East, Inc.
